Fall Disney Highlights

Let me begin by apologizing for my long absence.  We have been so busy since school started, I can hardly catch my breath.  I have intended several times to update on our fall vacation, as well as Christmas, but have never found time.  I will try to start bringing you up to speed...

In October, we got Jacob's cast off his broken leg just in time for our Disney vacation over fall break! The cast was so nasty, and Jacob had worn a hole right through it, which I did not know was possible!  But for those of you who know him, it's not hard to believe...we can't keep him down!

Our first day we went to Animal Kingdom.  It was fun, though all of our family wasn't there yet, we had a great time!  We all loved the safari, of course.

The tree of life...

And Jacob's favorite: Nemo the Musical!

Elena got some beautiful face paint, and conquered the Himalaya roller coaster!

It was a great day.  The next day we went to Hollywood Studios. We had a great day here too, with Elena's favorite being the Frozen sing along (of course). Asa liked the Star Wars ride, Star Tours.

And Jacob and Luke loved the Disney Junior show.

Some of the trip highlights for me was here, where we met Buzz Lightyear and Woody.  I have never seen Jacob so happy, and he told me after meeting them that this was "The best thing that ever happened!"  It was so cute.  We also rode the Toy Story Mania ride, which was one of all of our favorites.

We then went to Universal Studios. There, Jacob rode his first roller coaster, and loved it!

And Asa was thrilled to have some water rides (his favorite).

Josh and Abbie and their family arrived at this point.  The next day, we went to Universal's Islands of Adventure.  This one is a favorite of ours, as the kids love Dr. Seuss, and it has Seuss landing.  All the rides are so cute, and the rest of the park still has big kids stuff too.

Asa and Elena love the Jurassic Park movies, so they were thrilled with all the Jurassic park rides!

Finally it was Magic Kingdom Day!

The 3 oldest got their faces painted, though in retrospect, we probably shouldn't have done Jacob's as he touched it 5 minutes later, smeared it, and got hysterical.  The crying made him wipe his face and smear it more.  It was an epic fail that I wiped clean not 10 minutes after it was done. Oh well, it was cute for a second.  But we had a great day.  The highlight was definitely the parade.  Everyone loved it!

Luke got worn out for a bit, but was back up and at em by parade time.

It was just an amazing day with our family. I was so thankful we got to do this while it was still "magical" for all of the kids.  It was exhausting though!

We did have days mixed in where we stayed at the condos and swam and relaxed, which was great...

Jacob even learned to swim some with no floaties!

We had an amazing trip.  We have planned this trip since Jacob and Layla were born.  We had no idea what these past few years would hold, and after our year this year, we debated still going.  But the condos were paid for, and the money for the trip set aside, and we finally decided that it didn't matter what was going on, this our children would only be this young once, Asa and Elena are growing up so fast, our window of opportunity for this trip to have the same impact for them was getting smaller.  I am so glad we went.  We missed my younger brother, Mitch, but was thankful my parents and older brother, Josh, and his family could come.  I will remember it forever.

I think this post has been enough for now...I'll update more soon.   Thanks as always for following!
